Came here after watching the DSO to unwind, was easily the best place to do so. Had the Beef Wellington Bites, Horseraddish Mashed Potatoes (very subtle but delightful), and a Garden Party zero-proof cocktail. Very delicious, flavorful, and memorable all around. Shoutout to John for the great service and making me feel welcome here, like the previous reviews before me ( and btw I think he’d be very great voice actor 😁)
Such a stunning setting any time of year. The decor here is beautiful, Erika was my server today and she is absolutely lovely. My food was good - just a little bit of a heavy combo with how much cheese was on it. Will definately be back.
The service, atmosphere, and food here is absolutely next level. Travelling for work I have tried many hotel restaurants and this one by far stands out to be ny favorite. Chelsea was amazing and had the BEST food recommendations. Everyone i have encountered at the Astra and the HALL have been so welcoming and kind. Next time I am in Dallas I will absolutely be back. :-)
Lunch at Astra was amazing! The environment is warm and welcoming, the staff was attentive and the timing and proportions of food were perfect! The food was incredibly delicious and I recommend ordering the chicken club sandwich, que rico! The Bar & Restaurant Director, Julio Leon, is attentive to his staff and he was so accommodating to us as guests, making sure we were taken care of and enjoying our experience at Astra. I give Astra a 10 out of 10 for great food, great atmosphere and great service!
Was having an event at HALL Arts Hotel, and decided to stop at the hotel resto for a quick lunch. I ordered a ginger ale, the pressed spicy tuna sushi, and the chicken thai salad. The sushi was great, and I liked the presentation/way it was prepared - I had never had pressed sushi before! The salad was perfect - crispy, fresh, crunchy, and a ton of flavor from the different ingredients (mango, chicken, avocado, etc.) We sat outside on the covered patio, which was lovely to enjoy the beautiful Dallas weather. Our service was nice too. Would definitely come back to find their other dishes and enjoy their patio again!
John was an amazing server. His knowledge and recommendations were amazing. The smoked trout dip is something I will TOTALLY be back for. The spare rib was so melt in your mouth good as well. Super tasty, great service, totally recommend this restaurant!
Awesome place! The drinks and food menus were great. The food was delicious and the ambience was excellent. Our server, John, was top notch - he made our experience exceptional. Prices were also very reasonable, especially considering the location.
We were big fans of Ellie’s before the transition to Astra, and honestly, not much has changed other than the name — which is a good thing. We had reservations for Mother’s Day brunch at Astra inside the HALL Arts Hotel, and despite the weather trying to derail things, the team absolutely delivered. Our party of 8 was originally supposed to sit outside, but the rain had other plans. The staff quickly came to the rescue and moved us to a private table in the back that turned out to be perfect. My 3-year-old grandson had room to play, and our family could actually hear each other and enjoy the moment together. The management team specifically assigned John Passarella to our table, and he was outstanding. Our gentle giant, was professional, attentive, kind, and completely on top of everything during what was clearly a very busy and chaotic brunch service. He especially made sure my mother-in-law was well taken care of, which meant a lot to our family. Overall, it was a crazy day for the restaurant, but the team — and especially John — made the experience memorable. Four hours later, we left full, happy, and grateful for such a great Mother’s Day celebration.
We arrived at the Astra kitchen for lunch, their was no wait, we were greeted at the entrance by a Very friendly hostess. We were seated at a lovely table with a view of the terrace/ patio. I only wish it were a warmer day I would have enjoyed that gorgeous patio. Are server greeted us immediately she introduced herself as Celia, she was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu she had some great suggestions, she answered all our questions with confidence. We took some of her suggestions and everything was absolutely Delicious!! Service was impeccable!!! The atmosphere of this restaurant was relaxing,and quiet. Everything about this restaurant was inviting,we had a wounderful experience. We are looking forward to returning soon!
My son and I stopped here for a brunch before a day of exploring the Arts District and we are so glad we did! This was hands-down the most delicious brunch I've had in a while... and I LOVE brunch. My avocado toast was the best I've ever had, and the croissant sandwich and french also did not disappoint. I'd give the atmosphere 20-stars if I could and the staff was wonderful and attentive. Make some time to come eat here and spend a day exploring the area!
